Her father, Albert Sidney Johnston Lee Dunson, a partner of J. E. Dunson Brothers, died in 1909. Her mother, Sarah White, a charter member and one time president of the LaGrange Woman's Club, died in 1961. Celeste and her mother lived with her mother's aunt and uncle, Robert D. and Sarah White Render, at the old E. Y. Hill home on Hill Street prior to moving to Atlanta, where they lived in the Georgian Terrace Hotel. Celeste was married in 1921 to A. Sigmund Weil, an accountant and friend of author Margaret Mitchell. They lived in Atlanta before moving to Selma, Alabama. Somewhere between 1930 and 1934, Celeste and Sigmund divorced. He then married a widow. Celeste and her mother moved to Tampa, Florida, where Sigmund frequently visited. After the widow died, Sigmund and Celeste remarried and returned to Selma where Sigmund died in 1986 and Celeste died in 1987. Both are buried with her parents in Hill View Cemetery in LaGrange.SCOPE AND CONTENT:The collection consists of one folder containing correspondence (1921-1951), an obituary for Sarah White Dunson and a delayed birth certificate for Celeste Dunson.
