HISTORICAL NOTE:

The Sons of LaFayette Male Choir was organized January 29, 2001, by Loren Pinkerman in the sanctuary of the LaGrange First Presbyterian Church. Pinkerman stated that the "goal is to have a choir of 40 plus men who represent many different walks of life in our community." According to the bylaws, "the purpose of the…choir is to provide a means of bringing together men from diverse backgrounds within the community and from the West Georgia and East Alabama areas to sing music written for men's voices for the musical enrichment of the area." The first public concert was held April 30, 2001. The group performs in the West Georgia area and periodically performs across the South and the world. They hold seasonal concerts and perform for special events.

SCOPE AND CONTENT:

The collection consists of programs, notes and scripts for various concerts as well as a collection of audio CDs. Members of the choir are listed in the programs. A scrapbook details the organization and first year of the choir. Some photographs of a 2003 concert are included in the scrapbook.
