Ridley was born in LaGrange on May 1, 1883, the son of Dr. Francis M. Ridley and Nanny Moses Ridley. A 1903 graduate of the University of Georgia, he obtained his medical degree from the Atlanta College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1906. Dr. Ridley joined his father's practice in LaGrange in 1906 and practiced general medicine, including obstetrics and surgery. During the 1930s, he semi-retired due to health concerns. He maintained his practice until his death on January 28, 1943. SCOPE AND CONTENT: The collection consists of two calendar notebooks (1924, 1941) that list patients Dr. Ridley examined in his office or visited each day. An account ledger records patient charges and payments in 1941. A separate folder relates to the membership and activities of the Woodmen of the World, Valley Camp #947, in 1916.
