He lived most of his life in LaGrange and worked for the Unity Plant of Callaway Mills. His wife, Lula Flournoy, a native of Macon County, Georgia, was also an employee of Callaway Mills. Their son, Hugh D. Flournoy, who died October 14, 1990, was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans. He worked as a sewing machine mechanic. Joseph Flournoy died on September 21, 1967; his wife died September 21, 1975. SCOPE AND CONTENT: This collection contains receipts and newsletters from various LaGrange businesses and other organizations for the years 1942 to 1967. Other items include greeting cards and a letter written by a soldier in Korea. Callaway Mills 25-Year Club booklets are also included.
