"Joe" Haralson, an architect with some ties to LaGrange, Georgia, worked with the firms of A. Klingensmith, Fort Smith, Arkansas, and the Elmer E. Dunlap, Co., Indianapolis, Indiana. He was an army veteran and probably served in World War I. SCOPE/CONTENT: There are twenty-seven letters and one telegram in the collection, all of which are addressed to J. J. Haralson's girl friend, Nina Rogers, a teacher who taught in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The letters detail facets of his day-to-day life while living in the Hotel Barton in Indianapolis, Indiana, from July through November 1919. Haralson writes of designing a courthouse and a bank, of attending a John Phillip Sousa concert and hearing Woodrow Wilson speak. One letter asks Miss Rogers to write him in LaGrange, GA.
