Traylor (1909-1975) was a native of Randolph County, Alabama and retired from Callaway Mills and Deering Milliken with 45 years of service in 1972. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a veteran of World War II. SCOPE AND CONTENT: The collection includes United States Navy and Georgia State Guard documents relating to the military service of Emmett E. Traylor. Traylor served with the Georgia State Guard, Third Battalion, from 1941-1944 under the command of Lt. Fuller E. Callaway Jr. of LaGrange. Traylor joined the United States Navy in 1944 and served until his honorable discharge in 1945. The collection includes notes, instructional bulletins, manuals and certificates relating to the military service of Emmett E. Traylor. There are also other materials relating to businesses, football, dance and the Red Cross in Troup County.
