March 5, 1936) of Mountville, Georgia, served from 1901-1906 as tax receiver for Troup County. He was born and reared in Mountville, GA and was married to Miss Milford Young of Hamilton, GA. In 1932 he ran for commissioner of roads and revenues. He is buried in the Mountville Methodist cemetery. The Evans family was a pioneer family of Troup County. SCOPE/CONTENT: The items in this collection represent a sampling of the papers of W. T. Evans and family members from 1881-1924. Items include various deeds and mortgages, business receipts from LaGrange merchants (Lawrence Rooney, J. E. Dunson, E. R. Bradfield & Company, and Dr. Howard S. Hunter, D.D.S.), stock purchases in Hillside Cotton Mill and various insurance policies.
