BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE:

John Darwin Faver (b. c. 1881; d. 1-8-1959), the son of Samuel Lumpkin Faver and Ellen Smith, was born in Newnan, Georgia. He married Mattie Coker Turner (b. 5-24-1899; d. 3-30-1971) in 1921.
John Faver moved to LaGrange in 1906. A prominent business and civic leader, Faver established at Three Points one of the first movie theatres in LaGrange. He was a member of the First Methodist Church, and helped organize the LaGrange Chamber of Commerce. He was a charter member of the LaGrange Elks Club and a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner.

SCOPE AND CONTENT:

The collection consists of two business account ledgers, showing investments by the Faver family and receipts from rental property in LaGrange and Alabama.
