BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE: Wallace Howard (January 14, 1924-June 13, 2003), the son of Henry Augustus and Emma Sue Stanley Howard, was born in Troup County. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and attended Auburn University. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and retired from the Dixie Division of WestPoint Pepperell. He had also worked at the Dunson Division of that company. On March 28, 1951, he married Geraldine Harry of LaGrange.

SCOPE AND CONTENT: The collection consists of a history of Dixie Mill and job specification sheets from the spinning department of Dunson Mill. Letters written by second grade students at Dunson School in 1921 to a “Miss Claude” complete the collection.
