HISTORICAL NOTE:

The Holly Garden Club was founded in 1974 as part of the Elms and Roses Garden Club Council. The club has taken part in flower shows and numerous beautification projects in the LaGrange area. The Holly Garden Club has been involved with maintaining the grounds of the Troup County Courthouse and, in 1980, erected a bronze plaque for the Confederate Memorial. The 1985 Christmas tour of homes was hosted by both the Holly Garden Club and the Ivy Garden Club with proceeds going to re-landscape LaFayette Square. The club has also worked with local schools on beautification projects. The club became inactive in May 2005.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE:

This collection is made up of 13 scrapbooks. Each serves as the official yearbook of the club. Minutes of meetings, news clippings, photographs, some certificates, and yearly budgets are among the items that can be found within each scrapbook. The scrapbook gives insight into the numerous projects and activities that the Holly Garden Club members took part in.
