Red Tails Will Take Flight on January 20, 2012
Co-Star Elijah Kelley Set to Celebrate in Hometown LaGrange, Georgia
LAGRANGE, GEORGIA-- A high-flying action tale inspired by the heroic exploits of the first all African-American aerial combat unit, Red Tails will launch into theaters on January 20, 2012. The fascinating WWII action film is directed by Anthony Hemingway (“Treme,” “The Wire,” “Battlestar Galactica”) and is produced by Star Wars creator George Lucas.
Elijah Kelley, a LaGrange, Georgia native, portrays Samuel “Joker” George in the film and will make a stop in his hometown to celebrate the film’s release. Kelley will partner with the Legacy Museum on Main in downtown LaGrange to unveil a special Tuskegee Airmen and WWII exhibit. The exhibit will focus on the Kelley and the original Tuskegee Airmen, including Willie Fuller who lived in LaGrange after World War II and married a LaGrange native, Willie Dunson Fuller. The exhibit and a reception will be open to the public and will begin at 4:00 p.m. After the reception, Kelley will greet fans at Carmike Cinemas 10 in downtown LaGrange. The reception and exhibit will be open free of charge. Legacy Museum will be open until 9 p.m. on Friday night.
