A lady in Philadelphia found the name of her mother’s birth mother who had come to Ohio from LaGrange over 60 years ago.  She was hoping that we could find a photograph of the lady, who was her grandmother, in our old school yearbooks.  We were able to find one!  She told us that her search had come to an end because, even though she knew her grandmother’s name, she could not find any trace of her.  We suggested that if she married afterwards and no longer used her maiden name it might be impossible to find her.  Because she knew the maiden name, though, we checked a few obituaries for people with that surname and found one for the grandmother’s brother and mother.  Both of them gave her married name and where she lived at the time.   Finding the married name enabled her to find that her “grandmother” was still living and where she was.  Now, it’s just a matter of time before they can have a family reunion.
